The purpose of the meeting was to explain the need for a digital must carry exemption for small cable operators, and to urge prompt Commission action on this matter. Also discussed at the meeting was ACA’s concern that upcoming retransmission consent negotiations could cause confusion surrounding the digital television transition, as well as ACA’s opposition to News Corp.’s petition seeking modification of the conditions placed on it by the Commission when it purchased DirecTV.
